69 Hectares (171 Acres) of Top Quality Grazing & Mowing Land
Brogden Farm, Danby Wiske, Northallerton, North Yorkshire
To Let by Informal Tender On instruction from Messrs ML & EC Scott –
Available on a licence basis for 3 years from 18th November 2026
CLOSING DATE: 12 NOON, MONDAY 9TH NOVEMBER 2026
General Information
Following the recent dispersal of the Brogden sheep flock, the Scott family have chosen to offer for let the
entire grazing and mowing area of the farm, less a couple of paddocks adjoining the farm steading.
The land offered (as a whole) has formed part of a productive livestock enterprise which since it was
purchased six years ago has had the benefit of generous annual applications of compound fertiliser, lime
and FYM which is supported by good soil analysis results.
New grass leys have been sown regularly (including herbal leys) and are carefully managed to ensure they
are always in their best condition to allow the consistent production of top quality grass yields.
THE LAND
The Licensor (ML & EC Scott) will be responsible for growing the grass crop and will continue to apply lime
where necessary, however no other fertiliser will be applied.
All field parcels are well fenced with many bounded by double net fences protecting newly planted thorn
hedges. An electric guard wire will be maintained by the owners along the boundary of the River Wiske.
Grazing will be permitted for sheep (year round) and for cattle (during summer months only i.e. April to
October). A single cut of grass per annum only is permitted.
All grazing/mowing by the Licensee must be done in accordance with the requirements of the Licensor’s
existing Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) Scheme. A copy of the scheme can be made available to
interested parties but is summarised below;
– SFI (CSAM3) Herbal leys Land Parcel(s) 3244
– SFI (CLIG3) Manage grassland with very low inputs Land Parcel(s) 0820, 0850,
The Dutch Barn in parcel 9448 and field building in parcel 2185 are both available for use by the Grazier.
